It's a pirate's life for me!

Kai waiting in line to ride the Matterhorn roller coaster for the 1st time
He had no idea what was going to happen
He loved it! Didn't even cry. Said he wanted to go through the waterfall again.
We rode the boat over to the Pirate Island.
The boys loved it!

Cancer Free

For those of you that bought bracelets or shirts or posted the little button on your blog on behalf of my little sister's best friend Amber.....thank you! My sister just told me that she got the results of her PETSCAN back and she is CANCER FREE. I am sure she will be celebrating her 20th birthday tomorrow with much joy. Thank the Lord.

Luke's Snow-Filled Weekend!

Hey everyone, it's Casey's younger sister Eryn here. I wanted to share about Luke's weekend in Flagstaff, AZ. (By the way, sorry if the pictures are organized lame, I hardly use Blogger)

Friday night my parents and Luke drove up to see me and got in around 9pm. We decided to head to Chili's and had some food, got a few things and Walmart, and then I brought Luke back to my dorm to sleep in my room. He was wired after sleeping the 2 hours it took to get from Phoenix to Flagstaff so we decided to make hot chocolate and do some crafts. Boy does that child love crafts!! I had just bought black duct tape so we decided to make "duct tape zebras" on paper and then paint white stripes on them with whiteout. The eyes were made of marshmallows! Then we watched Bee Movie and he fell asleep at 1 am.

Luke, not being one to sleep in, woke his loving Auntie Eryn up at 6:30 after she had just laid down her head at 3am (college life!). Running on less than 9 hours of sleep combined, we decided to go up to the mountain to try Luke in snowboarding. When we got up there, he was really excited until it came time to get snow clothes on. Then he really freaked out and didn't want to go. We convinced him to just go see the lodge and then rented a tiny pair of skis for him (they don't rent snowboards that small). Since I have never skied a day in my life, it was IMPOSSIBLE to try to teach him to ski!! I was getting frustrated because I didn't know how to help him, my dad was frustrated that he wasn't dressed for the weather, and Luke was petrified because we weren't being very good teachers. After about 15 minutes of trying to convince him to keep learning, he had had enough. So we took some quick pictures and I went off to get my money's worth of my $50 one day lift ticket.

After a few hours of fighting the crowds at the lifts (it had recently snowed and was the first decently nice day for about a week, naturally the lines were a half hour to get on a lift), I finally was ready to head out. We went to Alpine Pizza for dinner with my roommate from last year and Luke was already showing signs of meltdown/exhaustion. We decided to try to go to the men's NAU vs. Montana State basketball game and it turned out great! It was a fabulous game and Luke really enjoyed it. After that, we came back to my room and crashed!

Unfortunately Sunday morning, Luke was up at 4:30 ready to start his day. Being a 19 year old who cherishes sleep, I told him it was too early to get up and luckily he listened. He fell back asleep until 8:30 and we got up and packed things up for his departure. After a yummy breakfast at Cracker Barrel, it was time they hit the road. So they packed up and headed out after goodbyes.

It was a very fun weekend and I was glad to be able to spend some one on one time with my little man. Hopefully we can do it again in the future! <3 Auntie Eryn
