Luke's 5th Birthday Party

Today we went to Chuck E. Cheese for Luke's birthday party. We had a few friends we play with, our neighbors, and our cousins. The kids had a blast and we are exhausted! Thank you for all who came and.....if there isn't a picture in here you know you posed for it is because of MY camera skills. Sorry.

Luke's pre birthday with my parents

On Sunday my parents came over to celebrate Luke's 5th birthday since they both were not going to be able to come to his party. We had a late lunch and fun fetti cake. He was beyond happy when he opened the present they had gotten him: a Spiderman luggage. Kai on the other hand was not pleased at all! I had to get him his own piece of luggage out of the closet where he promptly filled it up with literally all of his clothes from his dresser; nice. And both boys decided it was opening day at our pool. Can you say cold? And yes I did let a coughing, snotty Kai in the water too.

Mark your calendars to help save a life!

Please join us on Tuesday, February 1st at Kennedy Elementary School for a blood/bone marrow drive to help King High School Student, Nick Melton (the son of Luke's kindergarten teacher next year). Nick needs a bone marrow transplant to save his life.

The drive takes place from 2:00-7:00pm at Kennedy Elementary School (my school) 19125 Schoolhouse Lane, off of Van Buren and Wood Road. The bone marrow screening is only open to those 18 and older. The test is simple and just requires a cheek swab. They will also be conducting a blood drive if you would like to give blood too!

Nick is 14 and suffers from Chronic Granulomatous Disease, an immune disease that makes it difficult for him to fight off infections. The condition has resulted in numerous hospitalizations and surgeries. Most children with this disorder only live to be 7 to 12 years old. A bone marrow transplant is Nick's only chance for survival. His three siblings have already been tested and are not a match.

PLEASE mark your calendars and tell all your friends and family about the drive. We hope to see you there!

1st time to the roller rink

Auntie Eryn and her friend Kyle took the boys roller skating for the first time at a rink! We didn't last very long, but they did have fun! Thank you guys for helping the boys out! I am also pleased to announce Kai made it all through the morning and outing in his big boy underwear! I think we are really on our way to getting this potty training down!

New Year's Eve

We had another awesome New Year's Eve at the Metzger's house! Thank you for hosting. Since we are all early birds with little ones we celebrated with the Eastern time zone! The kids were wild, the parents were chatty, and yes.....Kai even got naked! Okay, he is potty training!
